When four days is the right choice
Four days is a short sampler with three different overnight bases. The Gulmarg–Pahalgam transfer consumes a significant part of one day, leaving less room for a delayed arrival or a cancelled activity. Choose this version when seeing both places matters more than unpacking once.
What to decide before paying
If your first flight arrives too late to make the first transfer comfortably, compare dropping one destination with adding a night. Do not treat the airport arrival and the city-pair drive as the same leg.
Compare the added day honestly
Use the four-day total only for four days and three nights. An activity allowance is a planning amount, not confirmation that a gondola, boat or local excursion is included.
