About CostMyTrip
CostMyTrip is a free trip planner for India. You choose where you start and where you are going, and it works out an estimated budget: fuel and toll for your own vehicle, or fares if you go by bus, train or flight, plus stay, food and local costs. You can split the total between friends, build a day-wise itinerary, browse places worth visiting and keep a packing checklist.
We built it because most trip calculators either ignore tolls and food, or need an account before they show a number. CostMyTrip needs no sign-up, keeps your plan on your own device and shows every assumption so you can change it.
How the numbers are worked out
- Distance. Estimated from place coordinates with an allowance for road curvature that is higher in hilly and mountain country, and adjusted for well-known highway corridors. Every route has an "Open in Google Maps" link so you can check the real road.
- Fuel. Distance divided by the mileage you enter, multiplied by a fuel price that defaults to the average across the states on your route. You can override both.
- Toll. A planning allowance per kilometre on tolled highway. Actual tolls depend on the plaza and vehicle class.
- Bus, train and flight. Typical fare bands per kilometre by class, with a seasonal uplift for festival periods on flights.
- Stay and food. Price bands for budget, mid-range and premium travel, adjusted by city size.
Places covered
The search covers cities, towns, mandals and villages across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, along with major cities and tourist destinations across India. If a place is missing, add it as a custom place near a known town and the planner will estimate from there.
Our editorial approach
The route and travel guides are written by hand and use numbers from the same calculator as the planner. We label estimates as estimates, avoid quoting prices we cannot check, and point you to official sources for bookings such as temple darshan and train tickets. If you find an error, tell us and we will correct it.
What CostMyTrip does not do
- It has no accounts or sign-in.
- It does not book tickets, hotels or cabs.
- It does not show live prices, so always confirm current rates before you travel.
- It does not do live road routing.
